PRAKSIS is delighted to support a new prize for undergraduate students at Wimbledon College of Arts (University of the Arts London). Awarded to a graduating student for excellence in critical practice, the first PRAKSIS Prize for a Major Contextual Project has been presented to third-year Fine Art BA Honours student Agata Hofman in recognition of her outstanding work investigating relationships between food and art. Hofman, whose practice is based in performative and relational practice, receives a cash sum and the opportunity of mentoring with PRAKSIS co-founders Nicholas John Jones and Rachel Withers. The competition for a first prize was so fierce that a runner-up prize was awarded to Elliott Dean for his exemplary research into language and translation.

The prize, which is co-ordinated by Critical Practice Senior Lecturer Paula Smithard of Wimbledon College of Arts, has been established in recognition of PRAKSIS co-founders’ historical links with Critical Practice teaching at the college and will be offered annually to a Wimbledon Fine Art student.
