Join us for an artist talk by performance artist Luanda Carneiro Jacoel. The event is part of the public programme for R24: Held ~ Experiments in Touch
"I speak from a body that dances its multiple voices, layers and identities. A body entwining information networks, updating its memories. Surfing traces, always in a state of becoming”.
Luanda Carneiro Jacoel (BR/NO) is a performance artist working with the principles of ancestry, memory and temporality in the afro-diasporic body. The work crosses boundaries between dance; ritual; installation and video-performance.
Access

About the residency
Taking place from 4–25 September, PRAKSIS's twenty-fourth residency, Held ~ Experiments in Touch, invites a multidisciplinary group of artists and others to explore touch as a creative medium.
The residency is developed with Touch Praxis collaborators Nina Sarnelle and Selwa Sweidan, and convened in collaboration with Praxis Oslo, a laboratory for the study of dance and movement. Through collective work Held will engage with fields such as multisensorial spectatorship, environmental toxicities, queer theory, racial & disability justice, or practices of collectivity/consent.
