PRAKSIS Development Forum (PDF) is a monthly peer-discussion group for creative people. It provides a friendly, informal hub for a diversity of practitioners to meet, share and discuss works-in-progress.
PDF session 37 will be held online. This edition is an ideal opportunity to gain insights into an artist residency and explore the line between process and outcomes.
Multidisciplinary artist Alessandro Marchi will begin the session live from Detroit, USA where he is undertaking a textile-orientated residency with the College for Creative Studies and Cranbrook Academy of Art. Marchi’s practice revolves around human modified landscape, ownership, inequality, chaos and public space. He is particularly interested in how humans constantly negotiate and modify the spaces that they live in. Alessandro will discuss his approach to the residency and his experiences so far. Each participant has the same amount of time to present current work in progress or areas of research. In addition to gaining input to your own project, this session offers the opportunity to connect with creative practitioners from across the world.
