The third session of the PDF peer-support group welcomes freelance curator Stephanie Von Spreter as its guest contributor. Stephanie will be talking about her current interests and upcoming PhD at the University of Tromsø as part of the research group “Worlding Northern Art”. Von Spreter was formerly director of Fotogalleriet, Oslo.
PRAKSIS Development Forum (PDF) is a monthly peer-support group for the creative community of Oslo. It provides a friendly, informal hub for a diversity of practitioners to meet, share and discuss works in progress in a constructive setting. It is open to participants at all career stages.
PDF takes place at PRAKSIS HQ, at Rådhusgata 19, and at off-site locations, such as collaborating art spaces and artists’ studios. It is facilitated by practicing artist Sayed Sattar Hasan. Each session begins with a short guest presentation by an invited contributor before the session opens up for other participants to share their own practices. Meetings last 2.5 hours, allowing approximately twenty minutes to focus on each participant’s work-in-progress.
Projects in development can be shared in a number of ways, for example; slideshows, showing physical works, readings, performances, or any means which suitably communicates ideas. A group projector and laptop is available to display digital files. Participants need to keep time constraints in mind when presenting and discussing work, however, Sayed is on hand to ensure that the session runs smoothly.
PDF sessions take place from 17:30 – 20:00 on the second Wednesday of each month (unless otherwise stated). There are 8 places per session so booking is essential. Please write to office@praksisoslo.org attention of Sayed Hasan to book a place.
Refreshments will be provided.
