PRAKSIS Development Forum (PDF) is a monthly peer support group for the creative community of Oslo which provides an informal and constructive space for artists, curators and writers to share and discuss their current practice. It is an opportunity to learn what other creatives are up to, speak about your own work and share perspectives.
Each session is kickstarted by a guest presentation, and PDF Session 9 welcomes Sara R. Yazdani to open up the round table discussion. Sara is an art historian, critic and curator whose fields of research are modern and contemporary art with a particular focus on parallel ecologies, photography and the relationship between art, media and technologies. Yazdani holds a PhD in History and Media Studies from the University of Oslo and her writings have been published in numerous journals including: Artforum International, Mousse Magazine and Kunstkritikk.
After the guest presentation the floor is open for participants to discuss their own works in progress or ideas (for up to 20 minutes). A projector and laptop is availability for those who wish to present slides or moving image, and there is room to accommodate physical or performance based works. PDF encourages variety and experimentation, so please get in touch if you have any questions or requirements. Each session is facilitated by artist Sayed Sattar Hasan and is open to individuals at all career stages.
If you are simply curious about PDF and don't necessarily want to show anything (yet), feel free to come and see what goes on.
Space to present at PDF is limited so please RSVP your place by emailing: office@praksisoslo.org for attention of Sayed.
PDF is free to join, and refreshments are provided.
