Workshop // Cultural Mistranslations

In this workshop, which follows the ‘Cultural Mistranslations’ event the previous evening, Stefan Nowotny will join the participants to look more closely at, and to discuss together questions of, translation and mistranslation and how these relate to the participant's practices. The group will address questions of exile and asylum, but also linguistic aspects of translation, and the conditions of translatability. 

This workshop will be held together with the PRASIS residency group. There are an additional 7 places that can be reserved for those wishing join and to take part. Please email office@praksisoslo.org with up to 100 words on your practice and why you would like to join the workshop. 

Schedule //  11:00-14:00 - Lunch provided- 15:00-18:00

  2.  Vilem Flusser - Exile and Creativity (1984)
  3.  Walter Benjamin - The Task of The Translator (1923)
