Square Edges of a Round Room
Ceylan Öztrük traces the bounds of architecture through attempting to melt into her institutional holdings

A script extract from Wearing the Angles, Kissing the Room
"….
- Only in dreams. Is it a dream, Merve?
….
- I see what bothers me about those rooms. Not the walls, not the color, not the material. The corners.
I can say, the corners are the structure that builds the institution, aren't they? It finds its strength and the manner to recreate itself, through the corners.
If we were to talk about the object state of things, I could then blame the corners. Corners also close the building in gesture and must turn the corner, choose a way. Am I wrong? It gives a duality.. Either this or that, right or wrong, man or woman, orient or occident…
That is an institution.
...
- Yes, yes, sure. Listen, listen, listen, listen.
...
My disorientation is to purposely lose my orientation towards things.”
